A Day in the Life of a Wedding Planner, Mama, and Wife
Life is a balancing act—and for me, that couldn’t be more true. Every day brings a mix of responsibilities, challenges, and moments of joy, all woven together in a way that makes my life uniquely fulfilling. As a wedding planner, business owner, homeschooling mama, and wife to my childhood sweetheart, every single minute of my day is accounted for. Some might call it chaos, but I thrive in it. And because life wasn’t already busy enough, we recently added a new puppy to the mix—an Ultimate Doodle named Shadow! So, add “dog trainer” to my list of roles.
Early Mornings & Coffee First
My days always start early. Once the hubby alarm goes off, I’m up and heading downstairs for my much-needed coffee pick-me-up. My husband, Ryan, got me a Nespresso for Christmas, and let me tell you—it’s a game changer! If you don’t have one, get one! (Seriously.) While sipping my coffee, I check emails. All my current and past brides can attest to my 5 AM emails—early mornings are when I get my best work done! Meanwhile, Ryan is snoozing his alarm for the tenth time.
While sipping my coffee, I’m also taking our new puppy, Shadow, out of her crate to go potty and get her some water and breakfast. We have some early-morning playtime, getting her energy-out before she settles in for her first puppy nap of the day.
Once I’m caught up on emails, I make Ryan’s breakfast and pack his lunch for the day. By 6 AM, he’s out the door, and my oldest is strolling downstairs for her morning chocolate milk and cartoons. While my little one is still asleep, I do my daily Bible study and prep schoolwork for the day.
Our Daily Routine & Juggling It All
With Trinitee now accepted into a charter school program for the 2024/2025 school year, March has been filled with academic testing, placement assessments, OT evaluations, speech screenings, and other necessary appointments—all on top of her regular schoolwork and SAI Zoom classes.
Our daily routine is constantly evolving, but here’s a general breakdown of our weekly schedule:
• Mondays – Trinitee has occupational therapy twice via Zoom and SAI (Special Academic Instruction) reading and writing Zoom classes twice.
• Tuesdays – We have family therapy and SAI (Special Academic Instruction) Math Zoom class.
• Wednesdays – Homeschool co-op day.
• Thursdays – Bible study.• Fridays – SAI (Special Academic Instruction) in the morning for reading and writing.
Then after, we try and make it a Fun Friday—either a field trip, a craft at the library, or a park day for some exercise.
Amidst all this, I am balancing wedding planning duties—taking Zoom meetings, in-person consultations, and client calls. I also spend time reviewing contracts and handling venue walkthroughs, all while homeschooling Trinitee and keeping Koralee entertained. My littlest babe, Koralee, is my road dog; we’re always on the go, and she is the happiest girl. Life cannot function without time management. As a Libra (seems fitting, right?), I’m all about balance.
Weekends are designated for client meetings, but in the rare chance I have a free Saturday, we try to spend it together as a family, or I’m scrambling to prep for the upcoming week. Sundays, however, are my time—I play in an adult softball league, and that is my much-needed escape.
Softball is my “me” time, where I get to unwind, have fun, and just be in the moment.I always joke that I function better in chaos, but truthfully, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m so grateful for this life, my hardworking husband, and my growing business, It’s Fate Wedding Co. Blessed is an understatement.
Evenings & Family Time
Once we’ve survived our busy day (because let’s be real—most days are rough), the late afternoon is our wind-down time. When Ryan gets home from work, my phone goes on Do Not Disturb, and my email automatic replies are on. This is family time.
I start cooking dinner while Ryan takes over, playing with the girls who are so excited to see him after his long work day. Eating together as a family is something that’s really important to me, and while we don’t always manage it every single night, we make it a priority as often as possible. I try to make sure we all sit at the table. But let’s be real—I have an 18-month-old, so more often than not, I’m chasing her around trying to get her to eat while sneaking bites of my own dinner.
After dinner, I clean up the kitchen while Ryan takes care of bedtime routines, and then we do it all over again the next day. The beautifully mundane moments of our routine are what make life so special—the laughter at the dinner table, the bedtime giggles, and the quiet stillness before another busy day begins.
Wearing Many Hats & Loving Every Moment
This is a day in the life of a mama who wears many hats—mom, wife, teacher, business owner, friend, and now, dog trainer. This life is not for the faint of heart, but it’s heart that keeps me going. The love I have for my family and for my business is what makes the busy days worth it. And no matter how chaotic or exhausting, I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Here’s to the beautiful, messy, nonstop life I live—and loving every moment of it.
